How to Efficiently Clean Your House with Vinegar

Cleaning the house with vinegar – a budget-friendly and safe for the environment

One of the well-known green cleaners is the white vinegar. It is cheap (which is extraordinary in case you are cleaning on a budget), environmentally-safe, and moreover a disinfectant. As most of you know, cleaning your house isn’t that cheap. There is actually a cleaning detergent for each surface or appliance: oven cleaner, window cleaner, shower cleaner, toilet cleaner, limescale cleaner, floor cleaner, furniture polish, etc. Buying all of these cleaning materials can fetch a little fortune. Not as it were are these cleaning solutions not cheap, most of them contain chemicals that are exceptionally harmful to the environment. Moreover, these chemicals contaminate the soil, rivers and streams, and can be ingested by fish and other sea animals. Not to specify the harm we possibly cause ourselves by persistently breathing in these harsh chemicals.

The perfect way to diminish our utilisation of unsafe cleaners is to switch to more ecologically friendly or ‘green’ cleaners. By using common fixings we too diminish the sum of packaging that we dispose of, cans and plastics that takes a long time to biodegrade.

Here are five uses for white vinegar around the home!

Cleaning Windows

Cleaning the windows with white vinegar is the best way to give them a shimmering, streak-free finish.

  • First, make up a 50/50 arrangement of hot water and white vinegar
  • Dip a cloth into the vinegar solution and wipe along the window panel, cleaning from top to bottom. Make sure you reach into the corners and cover the entire surface of the window.
  • Use a squeegee, to collect the water starting from top to bottom
  • Clean any left water/vinegar solution at the bottom of the window with a towel or cloth.
  • It is very important to avoid cleaning the windows in direct sunlight as the sun will make the solution dry faster and it is possible to cause streaks.

Cleaning Hardwood Floors

Many of you know that to avoid damaging your hard flooring at home you need to clean it with a common PH solution. A well-known fact is that vinegar is an acid, so why on earth would you clean your hardwood floors with it? If you blend distilled white vinegar with water the pH is radically diminished, making it a totally secure and successful cleaning solution.

We unquestionably don’t prescribe you utilise the same proportion of water to vinegar as you do for windows, which would be quite strong and likely harm your hardwood flooring.

  • You can mix a  ¼ –a  ½ glass of vinegar with a full gallon of warm water in a bucket.
  • Clean the floor with a mop covering the whole area. Open windows to allow enough airflow so that the floor dries as rapidly as possible.
  • If you are concern about cleaning the floors with vinegar solution and worrying about damaging the surface, you can always test the cleaning solution first on a small “hidden” area

Cleaning the Microwave

If you don’t clean your microwave after each use (and truly, who does?) there for sure will be some stains and food burns. One way to clean your microwave is to scrub it well, but I can offer a less demanding way for you.

  • Make up a 50/50 mixture of distilled white vinegar and warm water in a microwave-safe container or bowl
  • Turn on the microwave on full power for 5 min
  • Take the bowl out using an oven mitt and wipe the interior of the microwave with a sponge or cloth
  • To get rid of the scent of vinegar, you could put a few orange or lemon cuts in the vinegar mixture before heating it.

Cleaning Pet Urine from the Carpet/Upholstery

If your pet has urinated on the carpet, the unpleasant result is the solid overwhelming scent. Cat urine is famously troublesome to evacuate. And it’s scent can stay for months in case it has not been cleaned properly.

The great news is that you don’t have to use costly cleaners that are stacked with poisonous chemicals; a cheaper and more conservative arrangement is white vinegar.

  • If it is a fresh urine absorb as much as possible with paper towels or rags. Mix one portion distilled white vinegar with one portion water. Include a few drops of lemon basic oil to cover the vinegar smell.
  • Spray the carpet with the vinegar mixture and let it stay in for 10 minutes. Absorb as much of the fluid as possible.
  • Sprinkle baking soda on the vinegar arrangement fix; take off for 10 minutes to retain the rest of the solution and then vacuum the carpet or upholstered item. Depending on how old is the urine stain, you may require rehashing the strategy a few times to totally remove the urine smell

Replace the Rinsing Solution in Your Dishwasher

Instead of buying expensive chemicals, essentially replace the rinse aid with refined white vinegar. Much cheaper, much more naturally secure, and indeed more shining glasses!
